‘Tis The Season To Be Reading At The Grand Hyatt San Antonio
Hotel Story Hours Promote Literacy and Togetherness
It’s a ho-ho-whole lot of fun at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio when Managing Director Tom Netting dons a special Santa suit for holiday story hours. Bring a camera and capture the fun taking place on Tuesdays, December 2, 9 and 16 at 10 and 11 a.m. It will be a winter wonderland as downtown’s newest hotel is transformed with holiday decorations and thousands upon thousands of lights. Come and enjoy the 24-foot by 20-foot holiday window display and the impressive three-dimensional chocolate sculpture. Most importantly, listen to the special message from Santa encouraging families to read together during the holidays and all year long.
WHAT: Six holiday story hours with Santa at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio.
WHO: Santa, wearing a vintage Santa suit, will read from the popular Corduroy Bear series including Corduroy, Corduroy’s Christmas and Corduroy’s Christmas Surprise.
WHEN: Tuesdays, December 2, 9 and 16 at 10 and 11 a.m.
WHERE: The lobby of the Grand Hyatt San Antonio Hotel, 600 E. Market Street.
SPECIAL: Complimentary cookies and milk served to all story hour guests.
OTHER: These events are free and open to the public.
Remember to Bring Your Cameras
Families bring your cameras to take photos with Santa as well as in front of the literary themed window display with its more than 1,600 lights and the oversized sculpture created from nearly 300 pounds of chocolate. The window and chocolate viewings are open to the public from 9a.m. until 9 p.m. daily throughout December.

the Dead,” this Mexican cultural tradition is a celebration in which the
family welcomes back departed loved ones, sharing the joys of life
with them as their memories live on. Creative and respectful altars
are set up around town at galleries, cultural centers, cemeteries and
restaurants to commemorate loved ones who have passed on. Poetry
readings, and calavera processions (participants dress as skeletons)

Nov 2nd: CinderFella Country Western Ball and Silent Auction-
San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet- Voted best live band in Texas, The
Joker’s Wild Band will perform at the Leon Springs Dance Hall from
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets, which include hors d’oeuvres, dinner and
dancing, cost $35 for adults and $15 for children. The ballet company,
a Regional Dance America Honor company, promotes and encourages

Nov 4th-9th: New World Wine and Food Festival- Giving wine and
food aficionados one more thing to be thankful for this November, the
Festival will showcase the Alamo City’s finest restaurants and chefs
as well as celebrity guests from Mexico, Miami, Manhattan and all

destination and an important culinary and cultural gateway to Mexico

This one of a kind marathon features over 70 bands along the course
which passes several historic missions and wraps up at the Alamodome.

Nov 29th: Houston Street Fair & Market- One-day event that takes
place monthly and offers San Antonians and their families a place
to come together and have fun. The fair features rides, face painting,
storytelling, handmade art and crafts by local artists, drinks, food and
